otter-files does not seem to use local thumbnailers

PendingBug2 votes0 commentsby dij

Some files like .kra (krita) files by default do not have thumbnail previews. However, for other file explorers you can add a command that runs in ~/.local/share/thumbnailers. command by itself unzip -p (file).kra preview.png > out.png has been tested and returns a viewable image. Having the thumbnailer file also lets dolphin correctly generate .kra thumbnails.

I have also tried increasing remote thumbnail limit to 48 mb and thumbnail cache limit to 256 MB.

Image is dolphin on top, otter-files on bottom.

Steps to reproduce

Create the following in ~/.local/share/thumbnailers/krita.thumbnailer

[Thumbnailer Entry]
TryExec=/bin/bash

MimeType=application/x-krita;

delete thumbnail cache, restart computer, it doesn't matter open otter-files and open a folder that contains a .kra

Expected behavior

otter-files shows .kra files with a thumbnail preview

Actual behavior

no thumbnail is generated
